It’s getting real now – Ti leaves are on!
We’ve spent the weekend finishing up last minute projects, looking at weather, attending the skipper’s meeting and bon voyage party, looking at weather, topping off our water, finishing up shopping, and looking at the weather. We’re looking at the weather a lot right now – it is going to be a bit tricky to get ourselves to some consistent pressure, so we’re focused on all the information we can find to help us figure out those decisions.
On the provisioning front, we have some favorites on board now – a couple of pizzas for early lunches, the important (and underwhelming) dehydrated meals, and most special – Wayne’s cookies! In 2014, at our first Pacific Cup, we met Wayne and Linda who live here in Richmond, and they gifted us with a cookie sendoff then. Then they did it again in 2016, and now we will have several days of amazing cookies to help us get to the 2022 Pac Cup finish line!
This morning, we watched some of the Monday starters head to the start line – it’s nice to have some canaries out there to help suss out the conditions.
We’ve been fortunate to be here with friends from Orcas (Ken and Steph on Dash) – it’s been quite fun to start this adventure with them, and we’re looking forward to some mai tai’s together in Kaneohe, too! (Picture credit below of the boats from Pacific Cup – thank you!).

Good luck you two! We’ll be watching the start! My bet is you’ll head W/SW. Just a hunch with no real research! Hahaha
Great luck, and as always…make us proud in Washington, will you? ( actually, we are SO proud already, but it is go time!!!)
